The rest of them, besides Bibarel, Bruxish, and Croconaw, who are only present because they're ugly as hell, are all there because their designs are uninspired and absolutely boring. It doesn't exactly help that it shares the invasiveness problem and that its design isn't much better. I have this rule that I don't consider what a Pokemon evolves from or into and I purely rank a Pokemon on its own, but I have to make an exception for Wingull, since it's at all connected to this thing. It's toilet-like design, the bizarre split-eye thing it has going on, and the sheer likelihood of me finding one in any game its present in, making it worse. Starting with the biggest insult the franchise has to offer, I absolutely despise everything about Pelipper. There was even enough for me to make a bottom 20, so the hard part was deciding which ones got off easy. That doesn't apply here every Pokemon I included here is absolute garbage. If you remember last time when I said some Pokemon are in the bottom 10 reluctantly, as there aren't any others I find to fit. Dewott and Toxapex both have a fair amount of sentiment attached to them and both look really cool. Starmie has a lot of layers to it, no pun intended, as it works as a cool looking Pokemon, a mysterious creature with ambiguous origins, and its regenerative abilities. Lapras is again a classic you can't go wrong with the Pokemon that was designed for Surf and gets pleasure out of the service. Dracovish to me is the coolest and works the best in battle, so I ran with it.

I just love the conception of Dracovish and the other Cara Less fusions. Greninja and Inteleon are pretty self explanatory you can never go wrong with a reptile that practices stealth and sharp shooting. Oshawott is just a sentimental Pokemon to me my go to for my Gen V playthroughs and the most charming of his line. Gyarados is just a classic from it's terrifying appearance and brutal behavior to it's origins as a weak fish that dreamed bigger and then became bigger, with similar reasoning to Golisopod. Piplup is an adorable, less stabby version of that. So naturally if you take one, cover it in sheet metal, and stick a trident on its face, then of course I'm going to choose it. Empoleon in particular is just a godsend of a Pokemon. It really should not be a surprise that a sizable fraction of the top 10 here is going to be a starter Pokemon or an evolutionary relative of one. Just be cool about it, and don't try to tell me to change my list, because I will only do that if my own tastes change.
WATER TYPE POKEMON FULL
I'm such a cool guy, however, that not only am I completely okay with you feeling that way, I give you full permission to express your own opinion in the comments. Something in the bottom 10 is probably something you like, and occasionally someone will come in and see a Pokemon that offends them in the top 10. Just a reminder, you will not agree with this. Here's an inventory of each Pokemon in case you can't tell who they are by looking, followed by brief justifications on both sides and my general opinion on the type. If you need context, check out the Normal type version and read the description, though you don't really need it. This concludes our list of the Top 5 Water Type Pokemon. The 10 water type Pokemon that I would go for a swim with any time, and the 10 water type Pokemon that I wish would drown. If you grade your teams on a scale of clean and fair to dirty and ruthless, inclusion of this Pokemon will be absolutely filthy. The Water Dark-typing is quickly rendered moot by the Protean ability, which turns Greninja’s type to that of whichever move they are about to use, allowing for Same-Type Attack Bonus on up to 4 different attacks, combined with fantastic base Special Attack and dangerous Speed.īut if you’re a purist claiming this list is meant for Water-Types, there’s always Battle Bond, an ability introduced later which allows Greninja to boost their Attack, Special attack AND Speed, and empower Water Shuriken, their unique move. Greninja tore right into the meta as soon as they were available in Generation 6, becoming recognized as clearly the best Water-Type starter and one of the greatest Pokemon of all time, and their popularity carries over into other Pokemon games. Like it or not, this is what peak performance looks like in Water-Type Pokemon.
